In 1972, CDS opened its doors to 49 students. The School had three classrooms, passionate teachers and a desire to succeed.
Over the years, CDS parents and friends gave generously to build the School. The changes have been dramatic. From the original three classrooms, CDS has developed some of the finest facilities in the independent school sector. The one thing that hasn’t changed is the level of genuine passion exhibited by our faculty. They absolutely love what they do and it shows. Our Alumni have experienced this firsthand.
And now that we have celebrated the 25th anniversary of our first few Senior School graduating classes, CDS wants to ensure that our Alumni can bring their own children back to their alma mater. With your support, we are building an endowed fund that will provide financial assistance for our children of CDS Alumni.

Annual Report
All donations to The Country Day School are acknowledged in the Annual Report.
Donors can remain anonymous if they wish. The Annual Report is published each year in the fall/winter and acknowledges donations based on a fiscal year ending June 30th. -
Endowment
An endowment is a fund that holds investments in perpetuity as a source of income. It provides an inspirational opportunity for our families to support an area of interest in the School, forever.Families can support areas within the School by donating to an existing fund, many named in honour of donors and former members of faculty and staff. Endowment funds provide meaningful support for the School and its community by: diversifying the student population; adding a humanizing touch by extending support to families who have had their circumstances change mid-way through the educational experience; and by helping to fund programs that would otherwise be unaffordable such as hosting visiting experts in academic, artistic and athletic disciplines.CDS currently has funds that support scholarships and bursaries, athletics, music, staff development and training, and beautification and green initiatives. -
Eversley Circle
The Eversley Circle is The Country Day School's recognition society to acknowledge and thank our donors for their outstanding support of $1000 or more.This special recognition circle is named in honour of the original one-room Eversley Schoolhouse, established in 1883, and now preserved as The Country Day School’s Junior School Library. Through the vision and sustaining support of hundreds of donors, our school has grown, expanded and flourished around Eversley. It is a fitting tribute to our donors that we honour them with a link to this historic legacy.If you would like further information, please feel free to contact us in the Office of Community Relations. -
Physical Recognition Plaque or Naming
In some circumstances, gifts to the School will result in the opportunity for a physical recognition plaque.
Micro projects often allow a small acknowledgement plaque recognizing the gift. For larger, more transformational major gifts, The Country Day School may choose to offer the opportunity to name a space or area within the School. All physical recognition plaques or naming opportunities are confirmed with the donor and approved before installation.

Land Acknowledgment
The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
