Support

Welcome

Thank You

Thanks to the foresight of our co-founders, Moffat Dunlap and Edmond G. Eberts, and a group of dedicated families from throughout the King community, The Country Day School opened its doors in September 1972. Today, their vision is a testament to the power of community. These original families acted on their desire to make a private day school in King a reality, and we will always remain grateful to them.

Their vision has been kept alive through the collective efforts of all who have supported CDS since that time. Over the past 50 years, the school has grown from a three-room school on four acres to an expansive 100-acre campus serving  Grades JK-12. None of this would have been possible without the philanthropic support of our community. It is a tribute to this lasting legacy that our current and past families, alumni, grandparents and friends continue to support The Country Day School with such extraordinary generosity.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
