University Acceptances for 2024

Collectively, our 79 members of the Class of 2024 received admission offers to some of the top universities across Canada, the U.S. and the world and 90% percent graduated as Ontario Scholars.

Class of 2024 Placement by Program Area

In what continues to be an example of the balance that we strive for here at CDS, our graduates are once again pursuing a broad range of disciplines in their post-secondary pursuits. Broken into the three major academic categories, this year’s Grade 12s are evenly split between pursuing Life and Physical Sciences, Business & Law, and the Arts and Social Sciences.

Some unique and interesting disciplines include: Biomedical Engineering, Government and International Relations, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture, Marine & Freshwater Biology, Mineral Engineering and Molecular Biology & Genetics. On the Commerce front, CDS students have accepted offers from Rotman - UofT, Ivey - Western, Desautels - McGill, Lazaridis – Laurier, and the Smith School at Queen’s, among other top schools.

Grade 12 University Visits

At the beginning of each school year, the Office of Admission and University Placement takes Graduating Year (GY) students to the Ontario and Quebec universities for campus visits.

The eastern tour stops at Queen’s, McGill, Concordia, Ottawa and Carleton University, while the westbound trip toured Western, Laurier, Waterloo, Guelph and McMaster. This annual excursion is a great kickoff to a hectic year of research, applications and decisions for our Grade 12 students. Both trips expose students to campuses old and new, big and small, urban and suburban. Our students sit in lecture halls, eat in school cafeterias and generally soak in the environment of the universities and towns we visit. An added feature of the trip is the opportunity to connect with our alumni currently studying at these destination universities.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
