The Birthday Book Program is administered by the CDS Parent Association and provides a unique gift giving opportunity that benefits both your child(ren) and our libraries.

Friends and family members are invited to donate on behalf of a child’s birthday by completing and submitting the form below.

In the Junior School ...
Our Junior School librarian strives to select books in honour of your child(ren) and their interests, which also supplement library resources. For Junior School children, the Birthday Book Program is very special and they are proud and excited to sign out the book that has been donated for them.

Students will receive notification from the Librarian when a book has been donated and is available to sign out.

In the Middle and Senior School ...
Students often access library resources for research and reference materials, and may have the honour/surprise to ‘discover’ items donated in their name. As in the Junior School, age appropriate materials are chosen by our Senior School Librarian.

Students will receive notification from the Librarian that the resources have been donated in their honour.

The Birthday Book Program provides an opportunity for your child to see their name inside a book that was donated in their honour. Your child will also receive a birthday card in the mail for their birthday.

Donations may be made below or by printing and submitting the attached form. Feel free to honour all of your children at this time. We will hold their cards and book notifications until their birthday. Donations are processed on a monthly basis, therefore we ask you to please allow adequate time for processing and mailing of your child's birthday card.

What a great way to honour your child(ren) on their birthday while supporting The Country Day School Libraries.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
