Course Selection 2025/26

t’s hard to believe, but we are beginning to plan for the next academic year!

Members of the Student Services and Post-Secondary Counselling teams are currently visiting the Grade 8-11 classes to explain the 2025/2026 course selection process to students. During these visits, your child will be shown how to access their online Google course selection form and the 2025/2026 Course Calendar. The Academic Course Calendar is an important tool for the course selection process. Please note that the Course Calendar and Course Selection Form will be available for students to view online once all of the class visits have been completed. Students can find the form in their school email the evening of Friday, January 10.
On Thursday, January 16, we will be holding the annual Senior School Academic Fair, where students in Grades 9-11 will be able to attend sessions and ask questions of teachers who are currently teaching elective courses. Today, the Grade 8 students heard from the Grade 9 Art, Drama, and Music teachers to assist them in making an informed decision about their Arts elective for Grade 9.

Course selection forms must be digitally signed off on by parents and are due to the Student Services Centre (SSC) by Friday, January 24 at 11:59 p.m. A letter with further details on how to support your child through the course selection process will be distributed to you through the Files & Forms section of MyCDS by the end of the day Friday, January 10. Please take the time to read the letter and digitally sign off that you have discussed their course selections for next year.

Throughout the course selection process, the Student Services team will also be available to meet with students to give them support with course planning. Feel free to contact Mrs. Maria Huckvale at ext. 321 if you would like to book a phone appointment or live meeting with your child’s Guidance Counsellor. If you would like to meet with Mr. David Huckvale or Ms. Darby Moreau, from our Admissions and Post-Secondary Counselling Office, please contact Ms. Liz Duckett at ext. 225 to book an appointment.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
