Teamwork with SK Yellow

By Danielle Papaeliou-Loberto
On Tuesday, our talented SK Yellow class took center stage during assembly with a delightful video presentation of "The Gigantic Pumpkin," a creative twist on the classic tale "The Gigantic Turnip." This engaging performance not only entertained but also beautifully illustrated this month’s character trait: Teamwork.
Each student in SK Yellow had the opportunity to choose their own role, showcasing their individuality while working collaboratively towards a common goal. They also took the creative initiative to colour their own headbands, adding a personal touch to their characters. The highlight for the students was bringing their characters to life and finally seeing their own teamwork shine on the big screen during assembly.

Throughout our lessons, students explored the original story, discussing how collaboration and unity can lead to success. SK Yellow brought this lesson to life, demonstrating that when we join forces, great things can happen. Congratulations to SK Yellow for their fantastic performance and for truly embodying the spirit of teamwork!  Please Log into MyCDS  to see the video

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
