I hope that you all had an amazing holiday! If you’re like me you probably enjoyed a lot of eating and drinking, which is why it was fun to get out last Thursday night and work up a sweat at our first of three CDS Parent Association Pickleball Nights!
Last week, we had a great turnout of more than 20 parents. With two expert instructors on hand, even those who had never picked up a racquet before were dinking, serving and volleying like pros by the end of the night. We have two more sessions planned. Although we are fully booked on January 30th there are a few spots available for this evening if you would ike to join us. Please contact us.
In last week's Backpack, we announced the Parent Association Pizza and Wine Night on Thursday, February 6th. Due to overwhelming response, we are SOLD OUT. Chef Richard, along with members of the Aramark Team, will guide the group through the process of making the perfect pizza! He will share some tips and tricks and then we will all have the chance to make our own savoury and sweet pizza. While the pizza is cooking, we will have the opportunity to tast some Canadian wines! The cost for the evening is $25 per person and space is limited. If you would like to have your name added to a waitlist, please email us.
We are beginning the process of setting our Executive for the next school year. We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers interested in joining the Parent Association. Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about how you can get involved to help us maintain a strong CDS Parent Community!

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
Founded in 1972, The Country Day School is a co-educational private school offering programs in JK-12 and located on 100 acres north of Toronto in King.
