Parent Book Reviews

Monday, March 3rd - Radium Girls by Kate Moore (please note there is a shortened young reader edition of this book - we will read the regular version).

*We selected Radium Girls as our next book choice because it is what the CDS Senior School play is based on. The play runs Thursday, February 27th to Saturday, March 1st and some of our regular readers thought it would be interesting to see the play, as well as read the book.

Wednesday, April 9th - Truths I Never Told You by Kelly Rimmer

Please consider joining us at 7:00 pm in the Senior School for one or both of these upcoming Parent Book Reviews. Questions? Contact events@cds.on.ca. Happy reading!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
