Join us for a Parent Walk through the Back 40!

Did you know that the CDS campus is situated on 100 acres, including approximately 2.5 km of walking trails that meander through wetlands behind the school? Fondly known as "The Back 40", this property plays an integral role in our Outdoor Ed curriculum, X-C running, snowshoeing and mountain biking programs, and our overall wellness and country feel!
Please join members of our Parent Association and Head of School John Liggett on Friday, October 18th, for a walk through the Back 40. The walk will take place from 9:00-10:00 AM, followed by hot chocolate and conversation.

Our campus is spectacular, especially in the fall, and we would like to take this opportunity to invite members of our parent community to join us to explore these grounds, meet other parents and connect with our CDS Parent Association.

We will meet at the Senior School entrance at 9:00 AM. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear, as the paths can be quite damp this time of year. No need to RSVP, and feel free to bring a friend.

We look forward to seeing you!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
