Arden – Grade 10

Arden likes the people at CDS and the large variety of opportunities the school provides, including the awareness they spread about world issues through school fundraisers and weekly assemblies.

She has been at CDS since Grade 3, and this year volunteered with Koalas, the after-school program for JK-Grade 3 students, to gain experience working with younger kids as she thinks she might like to become a teacher. She played soccer first term and plays rep soccer outside school. In the spring she will play either softball or run track.

Arden’s favourite part of the school day is lunch because she gets to see her friends who aren’t in her classes and catch up with school work. She loves the Marchè style Dining Hall with multiple food stations offering something for everyone.

Her advice for newcomers would be “to continue to do what you enjoy and step outside of your comfort zone. Try new things because CDS offers lots of opportunities. As well, find a good group of friends you feel comfortable with and can be yourself with.”

The class she looks most forward to is Art, which she has enjoyed since she was little. She also likes Math and spends about 1-2 hours on homework each night.
