Ethan – Grade 8

Ethan has been a student at CDS since Grade 7 and plays on the volleyball, basketball and softball teams; but basketball is his favourite. When he arrived for the start of Middle School, he noticed how different things were right away in that his teachers genuinely cared about how each student was doing and all of the opportunities for after-school extracurriculars.

Ethan's favorite aspect of CDS is participating in extracurricular activities. By joining peers with similar interests, he gets to see a different side of them than what he observes in the classroom.

His advice to new students would be to take advantage of all of these opportunities and try new things. This year, he joined three of his peers and 150 other students from across Canada as a participant at the CAIS Middle School Leadership Conference in Winnipeg and loved every moment.

Ethan really enjoys learning new concepts in History with Mr. De Sanctis. He typically spends an hour on homework and 30 minutes finishing up and organizing his other classwork in preparation for the next day.
