Kelsey Houston-Malakian ’12

Kelsey Houston-Malakian ’12 graduated from Queen’s University with a BSc (Hons) in Life Sciences and earned a Masters in Public Health (MPH) at the University of Guelph. She is now an Infection Control Practitioner for the University Health Network and Princess Margaret Hospital. Kelsey has presented on influenza outbreaks at a conference in Banff and is an Ebola personal protective equipment super trainer. According to Kelsey, "You never know what infection you will have to deal with on any given day. It is great to be contributing to patient safety in one of the world's top five cancer centres." During the COVID pandemic, Kelsey joined the CDS virtual Medical Consulting Team, proving invaluable support in offering up-to-date medical advice and best practice videos on mask-wearing protocols and the importance of handwashing and physical distancing for our community.
