The Country Day School's Long Range Plan 2023

In 2016, four key priorities emerged as core guiding constructs that have - and will continue to - shape the mission, vision and values of The Country Day School:  Support, Know and Inspire; Balance and Innovate; Build and Engage our Community; and Enhance our Financial Sustainability. These four key themes continue to provide the framework of our overarching mission in what we do to provide the foundation for your child(ren)’s educational journey as a CDS student.

Through conversations and surveys, the entire CDS community played an essential role in determining these priorities and establishing the goals and objectives. To all who participated, we thank you.

Over the coming year, we will continue to share initiatives in support of these same four priorities and integrate the results of our 2023 parent survey into our long range plans for CDS’s future.
Support, Know and Inspire
CDS will provide an approach toward instruction that is rooted in a deep understanding of our students. We will support wellness for all and continue to attract inspirational and caring faculty and staff. 
Balance and Innovate
We will continue to provide a balance of exceptional academics, arts and athletics. CDS will lead in outdoor educational experiences and environmental citizenship across all grades and offer a balanced approach to technology.
Build and Engage Our Community
We will further strengthen and engage our community members and fully engage our alumni connections.
Enhance our Financial Sustainability
We will continue to nurture our philanthropic culture, while ensuring our long-term financial sustainability.

What's Next?

We will continue to elaborate on these four priorities and share frequent progress updates through The Backpack, The Link, our website and social media channels.

Look for these coloured icons around the School and in future updates as we continue to highlight initiatives on an ongoing basis.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
