Wanted: Your Donations

Catrina Marzilli & Sarah Powell - Sheriffs for Auction 2025
We hope that you are all ready for an amazing night at the Boots and Bids Dinner & Auction 2025 in the CDS Cyclone SaddleDome on Friday, May 30th!  If you have not secured your tickets through sponsorship, the remaining tickets will go on sale at the end of February. Stay tuned for details.

Before we get to the event we have fences to build, and donations to corral - and this is where you come in!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?  You can donate an item. The SILENT AUCTION features in excess of 150 items! There is everything that you can think of: outdoor items, power tools, electric bikes, gift baskets, certificates, jewelry, dinner, tickets, bbqs, furniture, and so much more. The values range in price and in size, and we can bundle items to make appealing packages as well!  Or, you can donate to our LIVE AUCTION, featuring trips, dinners and one-of-a-kind experiences that you would not normally be able to obtain. Give this some thought … maybe you have a contact, a summer or a winter home, a box to events or sports?  We do not require your silent and live items right now - just your commitment so we can plan accordingly.

If you are still not sure what you could contribute, consider donating your CASH. When you do this, the Auction Team will purchase an item from their wish list, or purchase an item to finish bundling a package.

The event is a party, in fact the largest parent social event at CDS, but it also serves a purpose - to raise money for CDS. In each of the last two years the event has raised over $250,000, and since the inception of the event 49 years ago it has raised in excess of $6.5 million dollars. Just think of how many bake sales and small fundraisers we would need to do to raise this amount of money each year!

Each year the funds are directed towards a specific project at the School and this year we are excited that all funds will go toward the Dream Together Campaign - a new fieldhouse and athletic centre which will replace our existing Cyclone Dome.

There are many areas of the Auction in which we require support. If you are not sure how to help, please email us at auction@cds.on.ca, and we would be happy to help guide your decision. The most important part is having everyone participate so that we, together as a community, can make this year a huge success for our students and make the new Fieldhouse a reality!

Grab your hat and hold on to your saddle - it is going to be an amazing ride!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
