On May 15th, all of the Middle School students at CDS had the opportunity to participate in this year’s Gauss Mathematics contest. The contest consists of 25 multiple choice questions with topics chosen from the Grade 7 and Grade 8 mathematics curriculum.
Certificates of Distinction were earned by those who achieved in the top 25% of participants at CDS. On the Grade 8 Gauss, the average score at CDS was 88 out of 150.

A sincere thank you also goes out to both Mr. Bell and Ms. Yu who supported the students in preparing for the contest, and to Mr. Moore, Mr. Saklica, Ms. Langston, Ms. Romanowich, Mr. Vien, Mr. Dermody and Mr. Waldron, who supervised while students were writing this year.
The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories.
