This week's ISU recital by the Grade 12 vocal class was an unforgettable experience, captivating the audience with a plethora of emotions. Each performance was a testament to the student's passion and dedication, as they poured their hearts into renditions of songs that deeply resonated with them.
The repertoire showcased a diverse range of musical styles, predominantly drawing from the musical theatre genre. From timeless classics to pop hits, the recital offered something for every musical palate. It was a celebration of both tradition and innovation, as the students breathed new life into familiar melodies with their unique interpretations and original covers.
For three out of the four performers, this marked the culmination of a four-years through the Senior Vocal Music program at CDS. Their growth, both as vocalists and individuals, was evident in every note sung, serving as a testament to their unwavering commitment and hard work.
Congratulations to the Grade 12 Vocal Class for a fantastic recital, and thank you for sharing your incredible talent and passion with us!
The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
Founded in 1972, The Country Day School is a co-educational private school offering programs in JK-12 and located on 100 acres north of Toronto in King.
