Academics

Junior, Middle & Senior School
An education with balance is built first and foremost on a strong academic foundation. We offer unique programming across three distinct schools, each with a highly talented and engaged faculty who will guide your child along their CDS journey. At each stage, students develop the capability and confidence to explore further and reach higher.

In their early development, our youngest learners (JK-Grade 6) develop a strong sense of self in our supportive and engaging Junior School. Once in Middle School (Grades 7-8), our students experience greater independence in new social and academic settings. Our Senior School students (Grades 9-12) experience the right balance of freedom and guidance as they navigate and plan for their future.

Your child is unique, which is why there is no “one size fits all” approach here. Instead, teachers differentiate instruction and seek to meet the individual needs of each student. Across all of our programming, we cultivate the talent and passion a child brings with them—and help them to discover even more every day.

Our recent graduates articulate this philosophy beautifully in a series of video vignettes titled Portrait of a CDS Graduate.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
