This week, the Junior, Middle and Senior School choirs travelled to Richview Manor to sing for the residents. Both choirs and Senior Vocal Music class performed their respective concert pieces. Then, the students carolled alongside the residents. The students were able to bring some holiday cheer to Richview Manor and its residents.
It was amazing to see the residents’ faces light up as they listened to the music performed. Their smiles only got bigger as they sang holiday carols with the students. Their joy was not only evident by their expressions but the many thank yous and compliments given to the students. It was a pleasure to be able to perform for the residents and brighten up their holiday season.
Thank you to Ms. Kettrick and Richview Manor for organising this amazing experience! As well, thank you to Ms. Curran for accompanying and Mr. Moore and Ms. Totten for joining us on the trip.
The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
Founded in 1972, The Country Day School is a co-educational private school offering programs in JK-12 and located on 100 acres north of Toronto in King.
