Oakley – Grade 6

“What I love most about CDS is how respectful everyone is. It is like a small town, a community of people.”

Oakley arrived in Grade 5 and plays a lot of sports, including soccer and basketball for CDS and tennis outside of school. He is also involved with reading buddies and appreciates the numerous opportunities for leadership roles the Grade 6 students have, such as making announcements in morning assemblies. His favourite time of day is the start of each day. “You know it is a fresh day, and I look forward to what is to come.”

Oakley’s advice to newcomers is to be open and accepting of everyone. “When I started a year ago, I didn’t know anyone – but was open and willing to communicate and now I have lots of friends.”

Oakley likes to wake up early and prioritize his day and get organized. Mr. Wood is his favourite homeroom teacher ever. He appreciates his energy and is fascinated by the subject of science, which is Mr. Wood’s passion as well.

His favourite meals in the Dining Hall are Perogies and Mac n Cheese.
